The Pyrenees mountain range stretches the length of the border between France and Spain.  The highest mountains are in the central part of the range.  Our house is in a beautiful valley in this central area, the department is the "Hautes Pyrenees"  Being easy to get to by main roads, we are a convenient base for exploring deeper into the mountains and valleys.  Several Unesco World Heritage sites are within reach - the Cirque de Gavarnie (as well as the Cirque de Troumouse and Estaube), the Pont d'Espagne, the Pic de Midi (observatory) and the world famous pilgrimage site in Lourdes.  The area is excellent for walking, road and mountain biking, all sorts of outdoor sports or just for sight seeing and relaxing.  For serious cyclists, we are within a short ride of some of the most famous Tour de France climbs in the Pyrenees : Tourmalet, Luz Ardiden, Hautacam, Aubisque, Soulor as well as many other less well known climbs.  We happily welcome cyclists coming for events such as the Marmotte, the Pyreneen and those traversing the range between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.  We will do everything we can to make your trip a success.
